Tomorrow’s Forest in Rokkasho is an experimental farm, agro-forestry school, and local economy center in the northern prefecture of Aomori, Japan.  We are located just ___ km from Rokkasho Nuclear Reprocessing Plant, the site of protests since its establishment in ___ (year).

event.090601.earthjunpWe started our project by buying 28 hectares, about the size of  21 Japanese baseball stadium in Rokkasho-mura, Aomori prefecture. We named this place “Tomorrow’s Forest in Rokkasho”.   We would like to show a sustainable future that doesn’t consume excess CO2 nor produce nuclear waste, by teaching visibly such techniques as agro-forestry i (which includes sustainable tree planting, thinning and utilization) and running a nature school with overnight stays.

event.090601.groupphotoOur three objectives:
-We would like to go beyond the adversary relationship between people who  support and those that oppose  heat and nuclear power stations.
-We would like to show how a comfortable life in connection with the forest”  is possible for people in various situations.
-We would like to stimulate  local industry that supports local people and their life while  preserving the local environment.

Please join us and let’s grow “Tomorrow’s Forest in Rokkasho” for a sustainable future!
